While the subject matter of this book is hugely important (homelessness & kids), I thought the execution was lacking. The dog narrator was homeless for just a couple of days while the kids he encountered were only mentioned in passing. I was not at all fond of the illustrations with their distorted faces and eyes. I really didn't like how the human characters were introduced and then abandoned, though I suppose real life is a lot like that when one is moving from shelter to shelter. I got this copy free at ALA Midwinter.
