Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie (Audiocd) - Jordan Sonnenblick, Joel Johnstone Sonnenblick absolutely nails the 8th-grade boy voice here. Had I know what this was about, I never would have picked it up (I hate cancer books) but I'm glad I did. It was well-done, sensitively done, and felt entirely true. Too true, in places. There was a lot of humor to balance out the pathos and the worry. I liked the parents very much. I felt like the only false note was Sam, just because she was so predictable at that point in the narrative. I'll be looking for the sequel.
