Another really strong entry in the series. Bujold does some intense and mesmerizing work with Miles here. There's some of what I'm coming to think of as 'the usual' scintillating dialogue, funny one-liners, memorable characters & solid plotting. There's also some very incisive analysis of what it means to be human, what it means to be beautiful, what it means to be useful.
