I've been listening to this for a month, now. I think I've been through it 7 or 8 times, but I'm not remotely ready to be finished. The narrator's voice is lovely to drift off to at night, and wonderful to while away the afternoons whilst working around the house. I loved this book when I first read it many years ago, but I find I love it even more now. The window into the past is clearer from here, and a little sharper, more poignant. I especially love the parts about the Black Plague, of course. But the analysis of the civilization, and the concise, biting review of the Church's corruption, and the history of sex, and marriage. Oh, and the art of war? Chivalry? I can't pick a favorite part. Highly recommended.
