I can't remember why Dan Savage's works were under discussion the other day, but when I saw this listed as available on my library audio download shelf, I reflexively added it.I'm glad I did- it was fun to revisit from a slightly less repressive political climate. The narration was nicely done. The story is more discursive than I remember, but I still adore Savage's mom. I wonder if they are still wearing their skull rings.
