The Wednesday Wars
I mostly liked this book but kept getting distracted wondering what the Newbery committee was thinking first of all, and second of all the name "Hoodhood"? Bother. It's a fun book, a breezy read, but not exactly what I think of as Newbery material. It was light and enjoyable but when I closed the book it was over. No reverberations.
